State to get new gas-based power plant
Submitted by Navjot Singh on Fri, 08/14/2009 - 01:18The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) and the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MahaGenco) on Wednesday signed an agreement to establish a 1,500 MW gas-based power plant in Latur.
According to the agreement, in case the Centre fails to allocate gas to the plant, both the partners would go ahead with the construction of a 1,320 MW thermal plant at the same place.
The plant would have advanced super-critical technology and would be free from pollution.
BHEL receives Rs 50.40 billion contract from Jindal Power
Submitted by Navjot Singh on Sun, 12/28/2008 - 05:46Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has announced that it has been awarded Rs 50.40 billion contract by Jindal Power for constructing 2,400 megawatt power plant in Chhattisgarh.
Under the said contract, BHEL would install four units of 600 megawatt each in O P Jindal super thermal power plant situated at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh.
The major activity of BHEL in the contract entails designs, engineering, manufacture, supply and erection of boilers, turbines, generators and associated auxilliary.
India's Bharat Heavy gets contract from Oman

Under the contract, the state-owned power equipment firm will supply 126 megawatt gas turbine generator packages for various power projects envisaged by Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO).
According to the sources, the proposed pact will initially be valid for six fiscals with an option to extend it further by three years, during which Petroleum Development can acquire additional units from BHEL.
TNEB-Bhel tie-up for 1600 Mw plant in Tuticorin district

According to the sources, the association would be christened Udangudi Power Corporation Ltd, in which TNEB, BHEL and other financial institutions, would have equity stakes.
BHEL bags Rs 240 cr order for Mundra UMPP
Submitted by Raja Chauhan on Tue, 11/25/2008 - 04:45State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals has made announcement that the company has bagged Rs240-crore order for manufacturing and supplying transformers to Tata Power's power project in Gujarat.
According to the sources, the proposed contract has been placed by Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) by Tata Power, for the implementation of the 4,000 MW Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP).
The order also entails manufacture and supply of busducts for the power project. Busducts are designed for connecting the generator to the maintransformer.
BHEL bags Rs 1,325-cr order from APGENCO

According to the sources, the proposed contract has been placed by Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) for building 600 MW thermal power generating unit in Warangal district.
Era Infra bags Rs 1.99 bn order from BHEL

The source close to the company said that the proposed contract has been awarded for the complete civil, structural and architectural works for main plant, balance of plant and various buildings including induced draft cooling towers at 2 x 759 mw Pragati - III combined cycle power project at Bawana.
BHEL Wins Contract Worth Rs 6,410 Million
Submitted by Raja Chauhan on Thu, 10/23/2008 - 04:50India-based Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has revealed that the company has been awarded Rs 6,410 million contract by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL) for building a 412 megawatt hydro-electric project (HEP) in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh.
According to the sources, the proposed project is located at Rampur on the downstream of the 6x250 MW Nathpa Jhakri HEP and will use de-silted water discharged by that project.
Under the proposed order, BHEL will execute design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of complete electromechanical works for the project.
