Private refiner Essar Oil Ltd has registered a net loss of Rs 70 crore during the three month period ended June 2010 as against a net profit of Rs 169 crore in the same period of 2009.

But, the total income of the company surged to Rs 10,570 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 6,601 crore for April-June 2009.
