BMW Ready To Increase Capacity To 5400 Units

BMW declared that it had strengthened its capacitance at Chennai plant to produce 5,400 units annually as against 3,000 units previously.

Luxury car manufacturer will make a total investment of Rs 70 crore in order to increase capacitance even further by the next two years (2012).

Thus far, the company has invested around Rs 110 crore in its Chennai facility.

The company refused to specify by how much the capacity would go up by 2012.

The incident caused all 250 individuals, around half of the staff, being hospitalized, complaining of dizziness and vomiting.

BijapurMarg, a Chennai-based company engaged in infrastructure development, is searching the options to invest Rs 1.08 billion in the Bijapur airport project, and is looking for a strategic partner for the same.

According to the sources, the company recently secured the contract for building and operating the airport.

Of the Rs 1.08 billion, equity portion will be Rs 320 million and the rest will come through debt.

Petron Eng. bags Rs 672.8 mn order from Engineers India

Petron Engineering Construction has informed that it has bagged an order worth Rs 672.8 million from Engineers India for composite mechanical works for implementation of EURO-IV Project of Chennai Petroleum Corporation at Chennai.

Petron Engineering Construction participates in offering total solutions in engineering construction.

According to the sources, the conglomerate operates through its five divisions of Construction, Pertron Mechanical Industries, Petrofab, Petrotech, and Rockwool Insulation.

RRB Energy to invest Rs 500 crore for capacity expansion

Chennai-based leading wind electric generator manufacturer RRB Energy, is planning to invest Rs 500 crore to increase the turbine capacity at its plant near Chennai by three-fold.

Out of the proposed Rs 500-crore investment, the company had already spent Rs 150 on the facility, while the balance amount will be invested during the current financial year.

Orchid Chemicals gets USFDA approval for Cefuroxime Injection

The Chennai-based pharmaceutical major, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd has received approvals from the USFDA for three of its ANDAs (Abbreviated New Drug Application) for Cefuroxime for Injection.

The company has received the approval for marketing the drug in the strength of 750 mg & 1.5 g vials (infusion packs), 7.5 g (pharmacy bulk pack) and 1.5 g vial.
