The novel manufacturing plant is an outcome of a contract between General Motors India, INOX India and BPCL for providing, re-gasification and last delivery of LNG at the company's facility.

Reliance Money ties up with APMCs in Gujarat

Promoters of commodity exchange NMCE Reliance Money and Neptune Overseas have linked up with Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMC) in Gujarat with the aim to roll out an electronic platform for physical trading in agriculture goods.

According to the sources, Reliance Money and Neptune Overseas have also decided to form a separate conglomerate National Agricultural Produce Market Company (NAPMC) in association with Gujarat Niyantrit Bazaar Sangh.

Surya Roshni subsidiary to invest Rs 400 cr for steel plant

Lighting solution provider Surya Roshni announced that its arm Surya Global Steel Tubes (SGST) is all set to pump Rs 400 crore to build a greenfield steel pipe manufacturing plant in Bhuj, Gujarat. 

According to the sources, establishing of the new plant is part of the company's strategy to provide to demand steel pipes in the oil and gas sector. 
 
The sources further revealed that the proposed plant will be equipped with an initial capacity of two lakh metric tonnes and is expected to be commissioned by December next fiscal.

BHEL bags Rs 240 cr order for Mundra UMPP

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals has made announcement that the company has bagged Rs240-crore order for manufacturing and supplying transformers to Tata Power's power project in Gujarat.

According to the sources, the proposed contract has been placed by Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) by Tata Power, for the implementation of the 4,000 MW Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP).

The order also entails manufacture and supply of busducts for the power project. Busducts are designed for connecting the generator to the maintransformer.

IFC aims to acquire 5% stake in GSPC Gas

International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has informed that it plans to acquire 5 percent stake worth Rs 1 - 2 billion (estimated) in GSPC Gas Company, an arm of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC).

The source close to the company said that GSPC Gas is set up with an initial investment of US$ 140 million for laying new pipelines for gas and developing infrastructure needed for gas distribution in Gujrat.

The source further disclosed that the conglomerate may use the IFC fund to partly fund the proposed expenditure.

Asian Paints temporarily shuts its Gujarat plant

Asian Paints, India's major paint manufacturer has announced that it has temporarily ceased its Phthalic Anhydride making plant at Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

The source close to development has revealed that the temporary shut down is due to fall in demand of chemicals worldwide.

Giving further remarks on the shut down, the source disclosed that the time period of the closure could be between one week and one month.

In India, Asian Paints is having two plants; one is situated at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, and the latter in Gujarat which has been shut down.

Gujarat govt to construct 4-lane highway at Waghodiya

Gujarat Government has informed that it will soon construct a four-lane highway in and around Waghodiya due to the huge industrial investment taking place there.

According to the sources, for building of this four-lane highway, Suzlon Energy, a leading player in wind turbine business has already pumped more than Rs 400 crore for setting up of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the area around Waghodiya.
