TN Administration For Removing Sugar From Futures Trading

Tamil Nadu administration today declared that it would take up matter of getting rid of sugar from futures trading with the Centre government with the aim to keep its rate under check.
A verdict regarding this was taken during the assessment meet headed by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the price matter.

J Kumar Infraprojects Limited declared that it has pocketed work orders amounted Rs 368.5 million.
The initial order worth Rs 192.5 million is for recasting and extending of existing box cell drainpipe at Eastern Express Highway.
The other order valued at Rs 176 million is for pilling works orders from a range of parties comprising L&T, Era Infra etc.

Textile production on Friday stopped in different parts of Tamil Nadu owing to a nationwide strike called by the textile biz supporting its demand to curb export of raw materials, comprising cotton and cotton yarn.
The strike affected various regions including Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Namakkal and Salem.
In Tirupur, a big part of enterprisers and textile workers had gone on a fast.

With the aim to strengthen its topline, JK Tyre and Industries plans to add up Rs 2,000 crore with the establishment of a new radial tyre facility in Sriperumbudur near Tamil Nadu from fiscal 2012-13 onwards.

Caterpillar India inks MoU with Tamil Nadu Government

US headquartered Caterpillar India disclosed that it has clinched a Memorandum of Understanding with Tamil Nadu Government to commence a heavy engineering equipment manufacturing plant near the city with an investment of Rs 800 crore.
Under the pact, the conglomerate would make heavy engineering equipment used in construction and mining industry.
SBI Life launches new scheme for SHGs in TN

SHGs are known as the Self Help Groups.
According to the sources, the conglomerate plans to bring about 0.3 million SHGs under its insurance network in Tamil Nadu.
The company claims that the proposed scheme has got marvellous response in Orissa and a few other states in the country.
TNEB-Bhel tie-up for 1600 Mw plant in Tuticorin district

According to the sources, the association would be christened Udangudi Power Corporation Ltd, in which TNEB, BHEL and other financial institutions, would have equity stakes.
