SEBI Signs Pact With FFMS, Russia

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has clinched a bilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Federal Financial Markets Service of Russian Federation (FFMS), Russia on mutual cooperation and information sharing.
 
According to sources, the MoU has been inked to set up a general framework for co-operation, consultation and mutual assistance between the regulatory authorities, in order to fulfilling of their regulatory responsibilities.      
 

CUMI inks MoU to set up Rs 50 mn plant in Russia

Carborundum Universal (CUMI), a constituent of the Murugappa group, has announced that it has clinched a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the administration of the Volgograd region, Russia for building a 100 thousand tons SIC Fusion Plant at a cost of about US$ 50 million through its arm Volzhsky Abrasive Works, Volgograd region, Russia.

According to the proposed plant will be equipped with environmentally friendly fusion technology and also high energy efficiency.

Russia okays ONGC`s takeover of Imperial Energy

Russia’s anti-trust office has given approval to India’s major exploration firm ONGC to acquire London-listed, Russia-focused oil firm Imperial Energy.

According to the sources, ONGC has agreed the acquisition of Imperial for US$ 2.6 billion in late August.

The sources further revealed that the proposed deal marks ONGC’s second investment in Russia, where the conglomerate already has 20 percent stake in the Sakhalin-1 oil and gas consortium headed by US major Exxon.
