Maruti launches A-Star at Rs 3.46-4.11 lakh

Maruti Suzuki, India's major car manufacturer has announced the introduction of its compact B-segment car christened 'A-Star', which is priced between Rs 3.46 lakh to Rs
4.11 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi for different models.
Powered by an innovative, high-tech, light weight, 998cc k10b petrol engine, this mid-priced segment car is touted to give a mileage of 19 kilometres per litre.
A-star with best in class turning radius, power, flat torque (minimum gearshifts) and performance has been designed keeping in mind aspirations of the urban economy-conscious clientele, who seek best-in-class fuel efficiency, lower emission, and high quality and high performance along with style.
According to the sources, the newest model meets the European ELV norms, which implies that 85% of the car is recyclable. In addition, it is free from hazardous materials like lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium.

According to the reports, the conglomerate is expecting to sell about 4,000 A-Star's a month. It could also facilitate Maruti to rev up its sagging sales numbers, which fell by
8 per cent in October this year.
Last year, Maruti Suzuki exported about 50,000 cars to about 40 countries.
Stock of Maruti Suzuki India closed at Rs 516, up 0.58 percent on National Stock Exchange (NSE). The total volume of shares traded was 707,693 at NSE.
