MTNL to kickoff 3G in Delhi on Dec 11

MTNL has announced that it envisage to start third-generation (3G) services with conventional closed-circuit TV.
According to the sources, the proposed services will facilitate security personnel monitor movements while being on the go themselves. The video surveillance service will use cameras linked by WiFi or landlines, which can be linked to a 3G handset wirelessly.
The reports said that Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh is scheduled to roll out the 3G services on December 11 in Delhi.
The services are expected to be rolled out in Mumbai soon.
According to the reports, in month of August, the government outlined guidelines for a worldwide auction of radio spectrum for third-and fourth-generation (3G and 4G) wireless services, from which it expected to raise up to Rs 400 billion.
Stock MTNL closed down Rs 0.05, or 0.07%, at Rs 73 on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 271,326.
