Maytas Infra Bags Rs 169.5 Crore Project

Maytas Infra Limited, a leading Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure development conglomerate, announced that it has secured Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme project worth Rs 169.5 crore from Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board aiming at supplying drinking water to Hyderabad city.
According to sources, Maytas will be accomplishing the project in joint venture with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Kirloskar Brothers Limited.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is India’s top engineering and construction firm, whereas Kirloskar Brothers Limited is a leading pump maker company.
The sources further disclosed that the Godawari Water Project will be carried out in Kondapak and Ghanpur on Karimnagar Road near Hyderabad.
Under the proposed work-order, the scope of work entails building of a clear water reservoir of 80 million litre capacity and an electrical sub-station for water pumping at Kondapak.
Besides, the company will also construct a mater balancing reservoir which is equipped with 150 million litres capacity at Ghanpur.
While commenting on the project, Mr. P K Madhav, CEO of Maytas stated, “The project will have a significant impact on the lives of the people in Greater Hyderabad as access to safe drinking water in adequate quantity is one of the key measures of the quality of life of people.”
According to the reports, the said project is the second drinking water project secured by Maytas Infra Limited in the present fiscal 2008. The conglomerate had earlier awarded Rs 44.68 crore workorder for offering Water Supply Distribution System in Gajuwaka near Visakhapatnam.
Scrip of Maytas Infra settled in red at Rs 467, down 2.58 percent on National Stock Exchange (NSE). The total volume of shares traded at NSE was 12,342.
