7.8 % Rise in Indian Industrial output in June

Deputy Chairman of India's Planning Commission Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia said that the Indian Industrial sector witnessed some recovery in June 2009.
He hopes that the same trend will continue in the coming months as well.
While talking to reporters, Mr. Ahluwalia said, “The National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme will help to maintain rural income. That will help to protect demand.”
According to the data released by the Central Statistical Organisation, the manufacturing output rose 7.3%.
In the same way, there was 15.4% rise in the mining output and 8% in the electricity.
The capital goods output rose 11.8% while 4% rise was recorded in the consumer goods during the same period.
