Yamaha unveils its new 1679cc bike

Yamaha, a Japanese two wheeler maker, has unveiled its new superbike in the Indian market.

The superbike, which is named as ‘V Max’, will be priced at Rs 20 lakh.

The new bike has 1679cc engine. The company is hoping to acquire 10% market share in India by 2012.

Company’s top official told reporters that they are anticipating 3 times growth in sales during the upcoming festival season.

During the launch of V Max, India Yamaha Motor Managing Director and CEO, Yuki Mine Tsuji said, “I am hopeful that these bikes will get the same kind of enthusiastic response as our recently-launched other products got. The company has registered a year-on-year growth of 80 per cent during the month of January to August and we expect the coming months to be also fruitful.”

Ahead of the forthcoming festive season, Yamaha also launched a limited edition of the Fazer and SZ Series models.
