Domestic airlines flew 45.04 lakh riders during the last month, which was around 22% more as compared to the same period of last year (June 2009).
This is the second successive month when the domestic airline businesses have recorded around 22% increase against same period of 2009.
This probably elucidates the growth in overcrowding at the metropolitan airports.
The DGCA data indicated that aside from Paramount, all the other airlines carried more travelers during the last month as against June last year.
The airline businesses functioned with vigorous seat factors in the range of 72% to 90%.
The seat factors during the last month included Air India (Domestic) – 72.3%, Jet Airways – 80.5%, JetLite – 83.6%, Kingfisher Airlines – 85.1%, Spice Jet – 88.5%, Paramount Airways – 86.8%, Go Air – 84% and Indi Go – 90.7%.
