Jet Airways Records Rs 3.52 Cr Net Profit In Q1

In the first quarter of 2010-11, Jet Airways recorded a net profit of Rs 3.52 crore on the back of superior seat sales and increase in passenger traffic as compared to a loss of Rs 22.53 crore during the same period of last fiscal
(2009-10).
The revenue of the private-sector group, which runs premium international and domestic airline Jet Airways, low-fare domestic airline Jet Airways Konnect and budget carrier Jetlite, increased by 25% to Rs 2,965.01 crore as against Rs 2,398.15 during the same period last year.
In a statement, Nikos Kardassis, chief executive of the country's biggest airline group by domestic market share, said, "This growth has been achieved through integration in operational efficiencies: effective network planning, strategic code shares, distinctive marketing initiatives improved reliability and on time performace."
The company's income from processes was Rs 2,746.98 crore, while the income from other business actions was Rs 218.03 crore.
Indian operations of the airline, where it holds around 26.2% of market share, accounted for 44%of the total proceeds, whereas the international operations brought in 56%of the overall revenues.
The carrier carried 3.55 million travelers during the April-June period, which was 37%up from the same period of last year.
The company's earnings before income, taxes, depreciation, amortization and rent grew by 42% to Rs 703.40 crore during the June quarter as against Rs 496.30 crore in June 2009.
The shares of the company declined 2.26% to end the day at Rs 614.10 on the BSE, prior to the results were declared.
