Fiat Rolls Out New Punto In KeralaFiat India has launched 'Fiat Grande Punto 90HP MULTIJET', its newest offering in the premium hatchback section, in Kerala.

While talking to media persons after introducing the car in Kerala, Mr. Ravi Bhatia, Fiat India Commercial Vice-President, stated that the novel car, tipped to be the country's most potent diesel hatchback, was built up with a multi-jet engine catered by a variable geometry turbocharger.

Fiat Punto would offer drivers with 'class leading' power of 93 PS and torsion of 209 NM together with superb dynamics and a fuel efficiency of 20 km per litre.

On the demand for the Punto model, Mr. Bhatia stated that approximately 1,200 to 1,500 cars on a monthly basis were sold and Fiat hold around 8-9% share in the section.

The newly launched Punto comes equipped with double stage airbags, ABS with EBD, automatic climate control, incorporated CD/MP3 player with USB and lots of other advanced features.

Fiat India, on July 21, is making plans to export its cars in South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations to augment its export volumes.

In 2009, Fiat India started its export functioning.

The company has exported 1,1000 units of its Grande Punto hatchback, 360 units of Linea and 650 units of Palio, totaled to 2000 units.
