Mercedes-Benz has recorded its peak monthly sales in July this year (2010).

The company declared July as its 'largest-ever-month' of sales during its 15-year long history in the Indian market.

Luxury car manufacturer sold around 521 units during the last month recorded an increase of 80%as compared to the same period of last year.

The company sold around 288 units in July last year (2009).

Pushing the record figures was the E-Class with 212 units and the sport utility vehicles that saw the maximum sales ever in any given month.

During the first seven month period of this year (Jan-July 2010), the company registered an increase of 80%after selling 2922 units as against the like period of previous year during which it sold around 1670 units.

Dr. Wilfried Aulbur MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India stated, "July has been the best ever month in the history of Mercedes-Benz in India. Jan-July 2010 also has been a period of strong growth for us."

"Our SUVs impressed one and all during our 5 city 'StarDrive Experience'. The demand for the GL and M-Class reflects the confidence and pride of ownership associated with our SUVs. The E-Class also continued its winning streak with 210+ units in July 2010 and a growth of almost 250% over July 2009. The E-Class a favorite of critics and customers alike continues its strong growth with 1250+ units sold since January 2010: a growth of 150% over Jan-July 2009," Dr. Aulbur added.
