Pepsi Introduces New Sugar-Free Soft Drink ‘Pepsi Max’Food and beverage giant Pepsi has made announcement about the launching of a new sugar-free cola in the Indian market.

Targeted at the 25-35 year age group, the newly launched cola is named as 'Pepsi Max.'

With the introduction of'Pepsi Max, the soft drinks maker aims to strengthen its market share in India, and to generate a new market section in the soft drink industry.

Available in a 500 ml pet bottle at Rs 25, the new Pepsi Max will hit Indian markets on August 06.

The novel beverage is a part of the company's $600 million growth in India, which was declared in 2009.

Punita Lal, executive director (Marketing), PepsiCo India, stated, "The introduction of Pepsi Max is a defining moment for the cola industry in India. It is target towards the 25 year-old age segment, who are health conscious but still want to have the original taste of Pepsi.."

"It is our endeavour to provide products have an element of human sustainability, seeing the health factor in India, we feel this product will be the sales driver in the coming years," she said.

'Max' will not affect the sales of Pepsi's other sugar-free product, Diet Pepsi.

"Both the segments are different and there will be no effect. This product will give maximum satisfaction while being sugar-free," Lal added.

Initially, Pepsi Max was introduced in Britain in the year 1993, and has been in the company's brand collection in 40 nations.
