Rupee Gains 3 Paise Vs US CurrencyDealers at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (FOREX) stated that Indian currency gained three paise at 46.15 versus the US currency because of selling of the dollar by exporters.

The Indian unit gained 10 paise to 46.08 as against the Dollar and registered a 6-week high during the morning, on the back of growth in capital inflows and feeble US Dollar as compared to other currencies.

A wide fluctuation was seen in the Indian unit as it hit the high of 46.18 and a low of 45.97 per USD.

Finally, the rupee shut its shop at 46.15/16 per dollar. As the stock market remained weak for the second day, it showed its effect on the local currency.

On Friday, the central bank (RBI) fixed the reference rate for the US Dollar at Rs 46.02, down by 21 paise from its previous rate of 46.23.

The Euro fell by 10 paise to Rs 60.70 a unit as compared to its previous last closure at Rs 60.80 per unit.

Six month forward US currency was recorded lower at 4.90% versus 5.00 on earlier trading session, and one year was registered to 4.22% as compared to 4.30%, the preceding trading session.

The global currencies registered against the Indian unit during the end of the session included Euro closing at 60.84/86 per unit, pound sterling at 73.28/30 per unit and Yen 53.72/74 per 100 units.
