Sansui To Foray Into Cell Phone Biz

Sansui announced that it will foray into the cell phone business in the Indian market.
With the aim to expand its market share in the country, Japanese audio and video equipment maker is all set to roll out 10 mobile phones by 2010 end.
The company introduced its novel variety of slim, LCD TVs and digital video disc players on Monday.
Mr. Jaideep Rathore, chief marketing officer, Sansui said, "We have launched our new range of LCDs with a plan to target a 5 percent share in the Indian LCD market by the end of the current financial year. We also plan to increase our market share in television to 12 percent."
The fresh array of LCDs unveiled by Sansui provides better audio and video quality and allows users to save films, music files and pics with high storage capability.
The slender TV set that features a touch control sensor, also provides easy access to tweeter networking internet site.
The company owns a dedicated customer call centre in order to guarantee strong after sales services in addition to exclusive service centers.
"We also plan to invest over Rs 40 crores in the next six months in advertising and marketing promotion initiatives," Mr. Rathore added.
Sansui is eyeing a turnover worth Rs 2,000 crore by the coming year.
At present, it has sales earnings of Rs 1,000 crore.
