Food Inflation Eases To 10.35%

For the week ended Aug 7, the country's food inflation fell down to 10.35% as against 11.4% during the earlier week.
The eased rates of a few pulses, and a spiky decline in rates of veggies, potatoes, and onions aided temper the overall food index.
The fuel rates index, continued with its downward curve, dangling to 12.57% during the period under review as compared to 12.66% registered duirng the last week.
The index of primary articles also increased at a slower pace at 14.85% as against the earlier week's surge of 15.66%.
As per recently released data, wholesale price inflation stood at 9.97% during the last month (July 2010).
The increase in inflationary figured drew the central banking institution (RBI) grow increasingly hawkish in its monetary plan action.
It had increased key rates of interest by 25 bps during its quarterly appraisal during June this year.
