L&T Eyes Oil In Brazil, Banking In IndiaLarsen and Toubro Ltd, is ready to make foray in the Brazilian market with the aim to discover chances in the country's oil and gas segment.

Besides, India's biggest engineering and construction company is also eyeing the Indian banking segment when laws permit the admission of novel private players.

While lecturing at a shareholders conference on Thursday, company chairman A M Naik stated that with the aim to provide further stimulus to the company's global biz.

Moreover, the company is also establishing an organization at the business level to deal with the complete global marketing network.

He also discussed regarding the sub-segments, which L&T sees lucrative opportunities in, particularly the railways and nuclear power.

"In the Railways business, L and T sees a diverse basket of opportunity in mass urban transit systems (metro and mono rails), station development, rolling stock manufacturing units for Indian Railways, railway sidings for industrial units, and opportunities in Dedicated Freight Corridor," he added.

Mr. Naik said that a large ordering of nuclear power projects to the tune of around Rs 100,000 crore is planned by 2015 in the Indian market.

The administration has made declaration about the installation of 62,000 MW of nuclear power capacitance by the year 2032, out of which 25,000 MW is likely to be appended by the next ten years (2020).
