Lumax To Invest Rs 200 Cr To Set Up Two Facilities, R&D Center

Lumax Industries has announced that it will invest around Rs 200 crore on setting up two facilities and one research & development (r&d) by 2012.
Mr. Anmol Jain, senior executive director of the company made this declaration while lecturing on the sidelines of Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) summit.
Mr. Jain stated, "We will be setting up two plants in the coming two years with an estimated cost of Rs. 200 crore for Tata Nano and Toyota Etios."
Apart from the two plants, Automotive lighting solutions provider would establish an r&d centre in the National Capital Region.
The new facility for Tata Motors' Nano car will be established at Sanand, Gujarat. It will start working by the third quarter of 2010-11.
The second facility for Toyota's Etios will be functional only by the upcoming financial year in Bangalore.
At present, Lumax possesses more than 60% market share in the country's auto lighting biz with six facilities that spread across India.
Mr. Jain added that the R&D plant would look after the complete Lumax product line.
The funds for these projects will come from internal accruals.
Lumax Industries is eyeing its export biz to develop owing to these projects and its new clients.
The company, which registered sales worth Rs 1200 crore stated that it will increase by 25% this financial year.
