Sensex Zooms 308 Pts; Nifty At 5,568.55

The 30-share index Sensex rested on its early gains and was trading around 308 points up during noon trade today.
Other Asian bourses also remained up on account of the buying action.
The Sensex, which belled the day at 18,124.29, remained up by 308.35 points at 18,529.78 as against its last closure at 18,221.43.
The broad-based Nifty gained 1.63% to trade at 5,568.55.
The BSE midcap surged 1.32% and the BSE smallcap index remained up by 1.69%.
The scrips from metals, energy, real estate and IT witnessed heavy buying action.
The overall market breadth remained positive as it saw 2,118 scrips advancements as against 790 declinations.
Other Asian markets also remained in the positive terrain with investors showing healthy buying action after the US payroll data issued on Friday displayed a fewer than expected number of people were without jobs.
The Japanese Nikkei shut the shop 2.05% up at 9,301.32.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng closed the day at 21,373.06, up 1.91%.
The Chinese Shanghai Composite index ended the trading session after zooming 1.54% at 2,696.25.
European stock markets also opened on an optimistic note.
