Sensex Surges 63.48; Capital Goods, Metal Up

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which belled the day positively, was trading 61 points up in noon trade.
The Sensex gained 63.48 points (0.34%) at 18,623.53 as against its last closure at 18,560.05.
The broad-based Nifty gained 0.3% to trade at 5,593.55.
The BSE midcap gained 0.27% and the BSE smallcap index was up by 0.88%.
Heavy buying activity was seen across capital goods and metals stocks.
Realty and banking scrips remained under selling pressure.
Other Asian bourses closed the trade on a mixed note, with traders taking a breather after Monday's rally.
The Japanese Nikkei ended 0.81% down at 9,226.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng shut the shop after surging 0.15% at 21,388.19.
The Chinese Shanghai Composite index shut the shop on a flat note at 2,698.36.
