BHEL Bags Rs 2,665 Cr Deal From Visa PowerThe public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) announced that it has pocketed a deal from Visa Power Ltd (VPL).

As per company's release, "The order is testimony to the confidence reposed by IPPs in BHEL's capabilities. It also reinforces BHEL's leadership status in the execution of thermal power projects involving supply of state-of-the-art equipment, suited to Indian coal and Indian conditions."

VPL, which is a part of the Visa group, has diversified interests in steel, mining, power, international trade, shipping and logistics.

The company said that of the total orders of 16,489 MW for power plant equipment in 2010, the orders received from IPPs stood at 14,689 MW, around 90% of the total orders.

Ay 1:43 p. m., the stock of the company gained 1.6% at Rs 2478.90 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The share price has seen a 52-week high of Rs 2585 and a low of Rs 2160 on BSE.

Current EPS & P/E ratio stood at 92.09 and 26.92 respectively.
