Tata Motors Sales Surge 31% In December

Auto manufacturer Tata Motors recorded 30.63% surge in its December sales at 67,441 units sold as against 51,627 units sold during December 2009.
Tata Motors said that its overall passenger vehicles sales in the Indian market in December 2010 jumped 34.48% to 19,706 units as against the same month of 2009.
Tata Motors said that Nano's sales during December surged 60% to 5,784 units.
'Indica' recorded 40% jump in sales, which stood at 5,923 units as against the units sold in December 2009.
'Indigo' family registered sales registered an increase of 3% to 5,234 units over the corresponding month during the previous year.
The company said that the sales of 'Sumo' and 'Safari' grew by 62 per cent to 2,765 units.
In the domestic commercial vehicles section, Tata Motors sales climbed 25.08%, as it sold 41,926 units in December 2010 as against 33,519 units sold in December 2009.
Light commercial vehicles' sales in December 2010 remained at 24,558 units, an increase of 35% over the previous year.
Tata Motors exports increased 69.18% to 5,809 units during the last month of 2010 as compared to 3,454 units sold in December 2009.
