TVS Motors today reported 42% increase in sales during the last month of 2010 at 1,71,790 units.

The company recorded sales of 1,20,913 units in December 2009.

In the two-wheeler section, TVS Motors sales grew by 41% by selling 1,68,359 units in December 2010.

It saw an increase of 94% in its scooter sales, with 41,804 units sold in December 2010 as compared to 21,566 units registered in December 2009.

Sale of Motorcycle surged 24% with 61,414 units sold during the month under review.

In addition, the company's overall sales for the period between April to December 2010 remained at 15,12,896 units.

"The cumulative three-wheeler sales for the period April 2010 to December 2010 stood at 27,794 units as against 8,707 units registering a growth of 219 per cent", the company said.

The total two-wheeler sales from April to December increased by 34% to 14,85,102 units.

The company's Indian sales increased by 46% with 1,49,357 units sold in December 2010.
