Wipro Net Surges 10% In Q3  Wipro Ltd declared net profit of Rs 13.2 billion for the three month period (October-December) ended December 2010, posting 10% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

In a regulatory filing, the IT giant stated that its revenue during October-December quarter (Q3) remained at Rs 78.3 billion, a growth of 12 percent YoY.

Under the International Financial Regulatory System (IFRS), net income of the company stood at $294 million and revenue $1.75 billion.

Wipro Ltd figured $1.4 billion income from its international IT biz for the upcoming quarter (January-March) of this fiscal year (2010-11), a growth of 4% in sequence from the third quarter (October-December) of this financial.

The company stated that the higher income was based on matching the guidance of $1.3 billion announced for third quarter, showing a successive growth of 5.2% and 15% year-on-year.

Moreover, the country's software major declared the nomination of T. K. Kurien as the chief executive officer (CEO) of its international IT biz and executive director of Wipro.

In a regulatory filing, the company stated that its joint chief executives Girish Paranjpe and Suresh Vaswani would resign on Feb 1.
