Maruti Suzuki Feb Sales Up 16%

India's biggest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India registered a jump of 15.51% in its sales during the last month, to 1,11,645 units.
India's biggest car manufacturer said that its sales during the corresponding month last year remained at 96,650 units.
Delhi-based firm also recorded an increase of 19.79% in its domestic sales during the last month to 1,01,543 units as against 84,765 units during February 2010.
But, the export figures of Maruti Suzuki India declined by 15% to 10,102 units as against 11,885 units during the same period last year.
The company's sales once bread-and-butter M800 model slipped 14.66% to 2,712 units in February from 3,178 units during February, 2010.
Under the A2 section, which consists of Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz models, the company saw an increase of 19.39% in sales to 72,090 units as against 60,380 units in the same month of 2010.
A3 section sales comprising the SX4 and DziRE models climbed 27.01% to 13,024 units as against 10,254 units during the same period of 2010.
The company's overall passenger car sales surged 19.02% to 87,851 units during the last month as against 73,812 units during the same period of 2010.
