Rs 3,300 Cr Yearly Plan For HP Sanctioned

A Rs 3,300 crore yearly plan for financial 2011-12 has been sanctioned for the state of Himachal Pradesh.
This was announced during a conference between Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia in the national capitak.
As per the declaration, Dhumal stated that the social service segment has been allotted top priority with a disbursement of 29.26% of the entire plan.
"The government would strive to further improve its indicators in the education and health sectors. In these sectors, apart from the plan allocations, a substantial amount is being spent from the non-plan," Dhumal added.
Dhumal also stated that transport and communication segments were offered the second priority, accompanied by energy.
"The state is pursuing a policy of a judicious mix of public-private participation in hydro power development during 2010-11," the CM also said.
The financial system of the Himachal Pradesh is highly contingent upon horticulture, in addition to hydroelectric power and tourism, with the twelve-monthly fruit industry being worth about Rs 20 billion.
