HCL Infosystems Pockets Rs 300 Cr Deal From IAF

Information technology hardware firm HCL Infosystems announced that it has pocketed a contract from the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Valued at Rs 300-crore, the scope of the deal is to install portable wireless network across a range of Air Force stations.
As per the deal, the company will set up Wideband CDMA-based Portable Wireless Network (WCDMA) that will guarantee video interactivity for video calls, cross connectivity with further communication programs inside the Air Force Network (AFNET).
The WCDMA network will be incorporated with Air Force Network that was positioned by the same company.
HCL Infosystems Executive Vice-President Rothin Bhattacharyya stated, "This being one of the key wins under our Defence System Integration Practice, further highlights the companys vast understanding in various industry verticals,&."
The 3G network will also have transportable mobile base stations for setting up communication with more prominent forces, even from far-flung positions within the country.
HCL Infosystems will execute the entire project on a turnkey basis.
