Bentley Rolls Out Rs 1.9 Cr Car In India

British car manufacturer Bentley has rolled out a 4-seater coupe of its Continental GT luxury sedan at a price of Rs 1.9 crore (ex-showroom , Delhi).
Chris Buxton, regional director for Bentley's Middle-East, Africa and India operations stated, "India is growing fast in the luxury automobile space. We hope to achieve a sales figure of 100 units here from our entire range by next year."
Powered by a 12-cylinder engine, the newly launched car accomplishes a maximum speed of 318 km/hour.
The 2-door offering comes equipped with a novel touch screen tools for cabin controls, chrome-bezelled dials and a detachable storage case.
The luxury car maker eyes to hit the 100-units mark in India by 2012.
Besides, Bentley aims to augment its worldwide sales to more than 7,000 cars in the existing year as against 5,500 cars sold during 2010.
"We are now witnessing a gradual strengthening in demand for luxury cars in key markets of Europe and the US. And with China emerging very fast, we hope to finish 2011 with about 7,000 units," Buxton added.
China is likely to witness sales of 1,500 units in 2011 as compared to the 1,000 units sold last year.
Bentley has been enhancing its concentration on developing economic systems such as China and India to cover up more and more into their fast-flourishing billionaire-club.
