Orchid Chemicals gets USFDA approval for Cefuroxime Injection

The Chennai-based pharmaceutical major, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd has received approvals from the USFDA for three of its ANDAs (Abbreviated New Drug Application) for Cefuroxime for Injection.
The company has received the approval for marketing the drug in the strength of 750 mg & 1.5 g vials (infusion packs), 7.5 g (pharmacy bulk pack) and 1.5 g vial.
Cefuroxime for Injection is indicated for the treatment of patients with infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated organisms in the diseases, which includes Lower Respiratory Tract Infections, Urinary Tract Infections, Skin and Skin-Structure Infections, Septicemia, Meningitis, Gonorrhea, Bone and Joint Infections.
Till date, Orchid has secured 28 ANDA approvals.
