Liverpool Football Club, All Set to Launch a Soccer Academy in India

Now India will also have an academy to support football. Yes, the Liverpool Football Club, which is known as one of the world’s most famous football clubs and has a tremendous following in Asia, on Wednesday announced to launch its first official soccer academy in India.
Since the beginning of the Premier League in 1992, this club which involves a domestic and European force has won seven major trophies. These include the Champions League, two FA Cups, UEFA Cup and three League Cups.
Now, the next aim of this club is to reach the hearts of people living in the cricket crazy country, India, and to attract large number of youth here towards this beautiful game.
As announced by a former England and Liverpool player, Steve McMahon, who besides Liverpool and India’s Carnoustie Group, an infrastructure and hospitality company, is another partner in the venture; this academy will be launched in association with the British club and will be named ‘Steve McMahon Football Academy’.
Delhi is the first city to have four major centers of this academy. Genesis school in Noida is the first one. McMahon will be the head coach and also the chief mentor of this academy.
