Tech Mahindra To Open Call Centre In UK

Indian telecom major Tech Mahindra has made announcement that the company will soon open a call centre at Jarrow, South Tyneside, and anticipates to create 500 jobs in the UK.

According to sources, Tyneside regional development agency, One North East has given the firm £2 million grant to bring the conglomerate to the area.

Tech Mahindra, which is working jointly for BT (British Telecom), will recruit about 500 IT and call centre staff over five fiscals for the centre at the Viking business park in Jarrow.

One of its users will be British Telecom, which has a 35 percent stake in Tech Mahindra.
