Google boss won't accept Obama cabinet post

The Google Inc. chief executive officer, Eric Schmidt recently cleared that he is not interested in joining Barack Obama's cabinet as a technology advisor. He declined in an interview conducted with him on Friday.

He stayed firm and said, “I love working at Google and I'm very happy to stay at Google, so the answer is no.”

It has been learnt that Schmidt is a great supporter of Obama and he even took part in a meeting sponsored by the incoming US administration to work on ways to deal with the economic crisis.

It was not at all astonishing to see Schmidt making a suggestion that despite the economic turndown, companies should continue to spend money on advertising their wares.

Meanwhile, the cabinet post put up by ZDNet, shows that Schmidt tops a list of 10 likely candidates. At the second position was Genachowski. Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Cisco chief John Chambers were other included in the list.
