India China Tiff over Oil

India China Tiff over OilIndia and China have had a recent tiff over the matter of oil in the South China Sea. China has issued a number of warnings to the ONGC from India the exploration plans that the firm was running together with Vietnam is violating the rules of the Chinese Government.

India has ignored the warnings and issued to China that it shall continue to look for oil resources in their South China Sea. There are already territorial disputes running among China and a number of other nations such as Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei, Vietnam and the Philippines. Looks like India is the new name on the block.

"The [Indian] Ministry of External Affairs has informed us that the block is well within the territory of Vietnam and so there are no issues with exploration there”, revealed A. K. Hazarika from ONGC.

China is of the view that the claim by India is baseless and dos not abide with the rules of China. There has to be a middle way found soon, otherwise situations between the two countries might turn out to be ugly.

Analysts are of the view that this tiff between the two countries, might seem to flare up further if common grounds are not agreed on soon. For now, both nations have their horns locked.
