Muslims in China Earning Good with Traditional Halal Business

The concept of trading halal food is gaining immense popularity among the Muslim business men in China, may be because most of their ancestors have made their living with the same.
Halal food is very popular, as not less than 1.5 billion Muslims across the world possess a specific temptation for the special food. Besides them, at least 500 million non-Muslims are also believed to have a taste for halal food.
According to available figures, the halal food alone from China had credited for a business of 100 million U. S. dollars, annually. On the other hand, in total the halal food accounts for more than 500 billion dollars.
While briefing about the scope of halal business, a 35-year-old veteran-turned businessman, Ma Xiaogang, claimed that he owns a small scale company which is still in its initial stages. Inspite of these facts, it is growing rapidly. Further, he had expressed confidence to expand his business in Arabian markets, as well.
The Chairman of the Mosh Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based food company, Mohamad Hamid said: "The markets of Ningxia and the neighboring regions like Shaanxi, Gansu and Inner Mongolia not only cater for the foreign exporters of halal food but also the foreign importers buying the halal food from China".
