Today, Hong Kong shares witnessed big deal of downfall. It is believed that fall in the market resulted from Hong Kong Bank's move of buying the stakes of the financially damaged countries.
It has been reported that the Bank of East Asia Ltd. and Hang Seng Bank Ltd. succumbed great loss during trading hours. Both shares witnessed plunge of 5.4% and 4.6% respectively. Although the market was seen following a downward trend the shares of Esprit Holdings Ltd rose by 12%.
However, the biggest losers of the day the Bank of East Asia Ltd and Hang Seng Bank have been poorly performing since last Wednesday. Although the shares listed on the Hong Kong market performed quite well, yesterday the markets were sounding promising as the investors were trading carefully keeping in mind the European financial crunch.
This month the Hong Seng Index of China has witnessed a drop of 21%. This month has proved unlucky for the country as the fall in this month is said to be the worst since 2008. Meanwhile, it has been informed that the European countries are doing quite well in coping up with their economic crisis.
