Panasonic Corp. to Halt Extension of Battery Manufacturing Unit

It has been reported that Japan’s battery giant, Panasonic Corp. is planning to place halt on expansion of its battery manufacturing unit. Due to growing competition with South Korean rivals, Japanese battery manufacturer ‘Panasonic Corp.’ has succumbed to low demand.
Earlier, Panasonic Corp. was planning of investing ¥100 billion at its Suminoe plant located in two different states Osaka and western Japan. Suminoe plant produces lithium-ion batteries which are majorly used in consumer electronics.
It has been informed that the company is restricting the production of battery globally but is looking forward of boosting its supply in China. It is believed that soon Panasonic Corp. will become the largest supplier of lithium-ion batteries in China.
It has further been revealed that auto manufacturing companies are planning of shifting to over sea places with the hope of boosting currency’s value, globally. Moreover, high corporate taxes and higher electricity cost is dumping the morals of the manufacturing units. As a result, many companies are looking forward of shifting their units to different countries so that the production cost could be reduced and profits could be maximized. In the hood of maximizing profits, Panasonic is planning to establish its lithium-ion batteries plants in China.
